Ever since I finished reading 33 Days of Morning Glory (highly recommend!) in April, Ken and I have been praying a daily rosary. It is one of my favorite times of the day. Maybe it’s because it’s the first thing we do after the girls are in bed. Maybe it’s because it’s my first time since morning prayer to sit with God and pray with my husband.
Either way, praying the rosary daily has been life changing for me. My anxiety and worry has lessened. My faith and trust in God has increased. I’m more mentally aware about all the prayer intentions that are on my heart.
On a rare occasion we would attempt a family rosary. Lately, however, we have been doing more family rosaries. I know, what you’re thinking, a family rosary with a four year old and a two year old, yeah right. Honestly, it’s the best. Seriously.
We have a basket with rosary roses, chew life rosaries, other multiple rosaries, holy cards, and saint dolls. We also have lots of church books. All of the above is fair game when we pray our family rosary.
Most times the girls will chime in here and there with the prayers while looking through the basket and reading their books. We don’t make them sit still. Madilyn will on her own but Genevieve constantly is moving. All the time.
We started doing more family rosaries for numerous reasons. One being it is peaceful. It is amazing family time. Repetition of hearing the prayers is one of the best ways for our girls to learning their prayers. The example we are giving our girls by taking time out of our day to say a rosary is priceless.
Mama Mary, pray for us!
